Vintage Mens Dressing Gown Woven Satin Robe with Hearts - Size M
$195.00
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a wonderful vintage men’s dressing gown or lounging robe made in a woven satin fabric from the 1960s. The pattern consists of small hearts in a shiny red color against a black background. The robe has a shawl collar and cuffs made in a magenta color and the pockets are also trimmed in magenta satin. It has a red, black and white rope-type belt with tassels. It has a breast pocket and an applied patch pocket at either side and the lapels, cuffs and pockets are trimmed in red, black and white roping. The fabric is most likely a woven rayon. .
Label: Brocar with Arabic script. I can’t read Arabic, but I think that this is of Egyptian origin.
Sizing: Size 46 is indicated, but this is a foreign sizing - it should fit a medium size (38-40), depending on how loose that you like your robe to be. In any case, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 19” across seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 24 1/4” long
Sleeve Inseam: 19” long
Chest: 42” around, approximate, depending on overlap
Waist: 42”, but meant to be cinched with sash belt
Overall length: 50”, measured flat
Condition: Very good - there is a slight bit of soiling to the back neck, but otherwise, this robe is very clean and looks to have seen little use. I have not had the robe dry cleaned.
This is a wonderful dressing gown – fabulous heart pattern, very rich looking, great for Valentine’s Day, or just if you’re feeling amorous!
