Vintage Mens 100% Cashmere Coat Navy Trench Overcoat Size 44

This is a pre-owned 100% cashmere coat or overcoat made in a relaxed trench coat style.  The fabric is very soft, in a medium thickness and of very nice quality.  This cashmere coat is made in an easy to wear classic trench style with higher set narrow width lapels, squared collar, five button closure with four of the buttons hidden by an overflap, raglan style sleeves, slanted side pockets, and button down belted cuffs.  The cashmere coat cinches at the waist with a matching cashmere sash belt and there is a deep pleat that starts at the upper back and flares down to the hemline in order to allow ease of movement.  The coat is fully lined in navy blue satin acetate.  

Brand label:  Joseph Abboud.  Abboud joined Ralph Lauren in 1981 after working in the clothing industry for most of his life.  He established the Joseph Abboud label in 1987 and sold it in the year 2000.

Fabric label:  100% Cashmere

Content label:  This cashmere coat has a Tyvek label identifying the model as “David” and states that the coat was union made in Canada by the ACTWU/TAVT which was in existence between 1976 and 1995. I know that Tyvek label and it was used by Cardinal of Montreal, Canada, a manufacturer with a history dating to 1938 that from the beginning focused on manufacturing quality cashmere topcoats. 

Sizing: The size label on this cashmere coat states size 44 R (regular), but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taken from the exterior (please take the thickness of the fabric and the cut of the garment into consideration):

Shoulders: 18”-19” estimated - difficult to determine due to the raglan sleeve

Sleeves: 35” from the mid-neck seam to the sleeve edge

Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2” long

Chest: 50” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 50”, meant to be cinched with sash belt

Overall length: 51“, measured flat at the back from the neck seam to the hemline

Condition:  Although pre-owned, this cashmere coat is in very clean condition - it’s obvious that it saw very little use.  There is no wear, tear or staining and has been well stored. 

This is a beautiful cashmere coat - note the back pleat and the overall tailoring. Quality pure cashmere coat is an easy to wear style!
