This is a vintage red wool vest “handcrafted by Canadian Eskimos”. It is hand edged in green wool yarn and closes with two green wool ties at the neckline only. It is decorated with four leather appliqués cut into the shape of seals that are detailed in blue wool yarn. The vest is cut with a rounded back that is longer than the front.
Age: 1960s or 70s

Sizing: No size is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 16 1/2” across
Chest: 36”, taken under the arms
Waist: 35” around
Overall length: 20 1/2“ at the front, 24” at the center back, both measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors, except for a bit of toning to the leather in a couple of places and a light black mark on the label, both issues very minor. This vest was dry cleaned and is very clean and ready for use.
This is an interesting piece of wearable art made by Canadian Northern aboriginal natives - striking colour!
