Vintage Imperial Glass Mayonnaise Set Pink Elegant Glass Gold Encrusted Border 1920s-30s

This is a vintage mayonnaise set in pink elegant glass, featuring a richly decorated gold encrusted border in a stylized scrolling motif. The set includes the footed bowl, matching underplate, and original glass ladle, all unified by the same pink tone and ornate gilt detailing.

The gold decoration is applied over an acid-etched ground. The geometric scrolling design reflects the transition from late Art Nouveau into early Art Deco styling.

The form is consistent with production by Imperial Glass during the elegant glass era, when pieces were often partially hand-finished and designed for more formal table service.  Attributed to Imperial, but possibly by another maker of the period.  The octagonal underplate and pedestal bowl give the set an architectural quality.

This type of set would have been used for serving mayonnaise, dressings, or sauces at the table and today makes an excellent display piece or addition to a collection of elegant glass.

Condition

The set is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or wear. There is a tiny bit of gold loss at one point (see last close-up photo) and a couple of pinhead sized tarnish spots to the gold on the plate

This is a lovely example in very nice shape - pretty display piece!
