This is a hat used as part of the Iberia Airlines stewardess uniform during the years spanning 1972 and 1977. The uniform, including the hat, was designed by Elio Berhanyer, a well-known Spanish fashion designer whose client list included Ava Gardner, Cyd Charisse and Queen Sofia. The hat is made of black wool felt and has a silver toned badge affixed to the front that has “IB” raised on it. There is a paper size label on the interior that reads “55”. The opening measures 21 5/8” around, so should fit a size 6 7/8, size small. It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or staining - of course, there are a couple of pinholes where the badge has been affixed.
This is a wonderful hat to complete a uniform or simply to display or wear!
