This is a fabulous quality vintage mink coat that is dyed in a herringbone pattern in colors of maroon/purplish red, white and black. I’m unsure of its age, but my best guess would be 1970s era - note the metallic woven lining, as furriers generally stopped using high end linings like this during the 70s. The coat is made in a classic style with a high set squared collar that can be worn down or up around the neck - I’ve posed the neckline both ways in the close-up photos. It has inset sleeves with a slight puff at the top, full cut, and with defined cuffs. The coat is cut with a flare to the hemline so falls in drapes There is a pocket built into either side. The coat is fully lined. The pattern is beautifully dyed - please note the back of the coat.
Label: None, probably made by a boutique furrier, most likely Montreal based.
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a size medium, please rely on the following exterior measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fur into account (compare measurements with a similar fur coat that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):
Shoulders: 13” across from seam to seam, but the shoulder cap should extend into the puff of the sleeve, so effective width would probably be more like 17”-18”
Sleeves: 26” from the shoulder seam to the cuff
Sleeve inseam: 17”
Bust: 40” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 37” around
Hips: 40” around
Overall length: 45”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition - the fur is fresh and strong and has very good glaze. No splits, wear or tear, it looks to have seen very little use and has been well cared for over its life.
Excellent quality mink coat in a very attractive dyed pattern in a striking colour combination - this is a wonderful mink coat, sure to be noticed and bring many years of warmth and pleasure!
