This is a vintage tin that contained candy (toffee or chocolates), or, as the British calls this type of candy, sweets. The tin contained sweets made by Clarnico (Clarke, Nicholls and Coombs), a company that was founded in 1879 and closed in 1975. It features a tin litho printed scene of 18th century ladies and gentlemen having a picnic in the country. The tin is rectangular and measures 7 1/8 by 3 7/8 by 2 5/8 high. in diameter and has a height of 6 3/8. It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear - very clean inside and out. I would think that it dates to the 1960s. This is a very nice tin - great addition to a collection or just as a display piece!
