Vintage Christian Dior Silk Scarf Abstract Plaid Design Hand Rolled Edge 30 x 30.5
This is a vintage silk scarf by Christian Dior, featuring an abstract plaid design rendered in a textured, painterly style.
The composition centres on a black ground overlaid with multicoloured linear bands in red, rust, ochre gold, teal, and ivory, creating the effect of a loosely woven textile or crosshatch pattern. The central panel is framed by a contrasting border in warm red tones.
The print reflects the move toward more abstract, graphic textile designs seen in designer accessories during the late 1960s into the 1970s, where traditional patterns such as tartan or plaid were reinterpreted in a modern, expressive way.
The scarf is finished with hand-rolled edges stitched to the front, a hallmark of higher-quality silk scarves, and bears the Christian Dior signature within the design.
