This is a vintage 1980s shoulder bag purse made in Spain for Charles Jourdan. This 1980s shoulder bag is made of navy blue leather with a V shaped decorative textured insert. The bag has a chain shoulder strap that has a fall of about 9 1/2”, rather short for a shoulder bag. The chain has three round metal pieces - two close to the purse that have a red plastic cabochon affixed while the one that is higher up has a green cabochon. It has an open interior with one side pocket. This 1980s shoulder bag closes with a magnetic snap.
Label: Gold toned plaque that reads Charles Jourdan Made in Spain. Charles Jourdan (1883-1976) opened his first shoe store in 1919. With his sons, he opened a Paris boutique in 1957 and, in 1959, they were granted a license to exclusively make shoes for the House of Dior. Charles Jourdan is known for producing very high quality leather goods.
Sizing: 8” wide by 8 1/4” - it does have room to expand
Condition: This 1980s shoulder bag is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour - this purse looks like it saw moderate use and was very well cared for over the years.
