Vintage Bill Blass Long Silk Scarf by Glentex Made in Japan Abstract Red Black
Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a wonderful long silk scarf designed by Bill Blass and made in Japan by Glentex. The print features an abstract pattern in red and black against white. The scarf is signed “Bill Blass” within the print. It is hand rolled and stitched on the edge. I believe that it dates to the 1970s.
Label: Glentex ® 100% Silk Hand Rolled Made in Japan. Glentex was a brand name of Honey Fashions, a subsidiary of the Glensder Textile Co. of New York. The brand was active from 1939, and examples usually date to the 50s or 60s. Given that Bill Blass registered his company under his name in 1970, this most likely dates to the early 70s, given its look.
Size: 70” long by 15” wide
Condition: It is in very good condition - it looks like it saw very little or no use.
This is a nice example of early Bill Blass design - striking colours!
