Vintage Beswick Foal Lying Down Horse Figurine Model 915 Gloss Bay Brown Arthur Gredington

This vintage Beswick reclining foal is Model 915, designed by the renowned Arthur Gredington, whose equine studies are among the most admired in the Beswick range. Beautifully modelled in a relaxed reclining pose, this early example is finished in the attractive Gloss Bay Brown colourway, with a warm brown coat, black mane and tail, dark points, and a white sock to the raised foreleg.

The underside is marked with the older Beswick England oval backstamp, impressed Beswick, and the impressed model number 915, indicating an early production example.  This example most likely dates to the 1950s, possibly early 1960s.

The figurine measures 3 1/4 inches in height, 5 1/4 inches in length, and approximately 2 inches in depth.

It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs, or noticeable wear. The glaze remains bright and glossy, making this an excellent display piece for collectors of Beswick horses, British ceramics, or equestrian memorabilia.

A lovely example of one of Beswick's classic horse studies and a wonderful addition to any collection.
