This is an early 60s era skirt suit made in a style associated with the “Jackie O” era. This suit is made in a linen finish in a lovely tone of yellow, quite striking. I’m unsure of the fabric, however - could be a silk blend, but I can’t be sure - it does have a “faille” patterning in it with some visible “slubs”, although these are quite fine. The jacket has a wide squared collar and an open front that closes only at the bottom centre of the collar with a hook and snap that are hidden by a decorative bow. The skirt is cut in a below the knee length and does up with a metal zipper at the side and a plastic button at the side waistband. Both pieces are fully lined in yellow acetate.
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 17” / Sleeves: 20” / Sleeve Inseam: 14” / Bust: 44” / Waist: 39” with a gap / Length: 22"
Waist: 30” / Hips: 42”/43” / Length: 26"
Condition: The suit is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours. The only defect is the cloth loop used to hook the jacket closed - it is quite frayed and should be replaced.
This is a lovely suit featuring a very pretty tone of yellow - wonderful summer suit!
