This is a fabulous vintage 60s mod shirt made in a colourful striped cotton voile by John Michael Ingram, a very influential menswear retailer during London’s Swinging 60s. Ingram’s customers including the Beatles, the Who, The Rolling Stones, Marc Bolan of T-Rex and David Hockney. The shirt is unused and was still pinned on its backing cardboard - I unpinned it in order to inspect, measure and photograph it. It is made in colours of orange, yellow and pink. The inside collar is stamped “Made in England All Cotton”. and “14 1/2 Do Not Starch Superslim”. Being a “Superslim” 60s mod shirt, please note the following measurements for fit:
Neck: 14 1/2”
Shoulders: 16” across from seam to seam
Sleeves: 33” from the mid-neck
Sleeve inseam: 22 12”
Chest: 38” around, 19” across from pit to pit
Waist: 35” around
Overall length: 30”, measured flat
This vintage 60s mod shirt is in very clean condition with no wear, tear, staining or odour - well kept over the years.
This 60s mod shirt is ultra rare in this unused state ….very sheer as you can see my mannequin pattern underneath, this is just an exceptional 60s mod era shirt!
