Vintage 60s Mens Crombie Cloth Wool Overcoat Custom Tailored Coat Size L 1964

This is a vintage mens coat or overcoat that was custom tailored in Montreal using Crombie Cloth made in Aberdeen, Scotland.  It is dated on the tailor’s label “Nov 1964”.  The coat is made of herringbone patterned wool in black.  It has high set, medium width notched lapels and does up with three buttons at the front  There is a flapped pocket at either side.  The sleeves have a single button at either cuff.  It has a 15” kick pleat at the back and the coat is half lined in a paisley print fabric.

Sizing: No size is indicated as it was custom tailored, but it should fit a size 46, or a size 44 if you wear a jacket underneath - please rely on the following measurements for fit, either comparing them to another coat that you may own or your body measurements, allowing at least 1” less for fit (4” at the chest) or more should you wish to wear a suit jacket underneath:

Shoulders: 21 1/2” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 25” long

Sleeve Inseam: 16 1/2” long

Chest: 49” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 46” around

Hips:  46” around

Overall length: 43"

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odors - a little wear to the buttonholes, and the coat would benefit from a dry cleaning and pressing.  Otherwise, this looks like it saw moderate use and was well stored over the years.  

This is a good example of 1964 men’s fashion - easy to wear, nice quality!
