Vintage 1980s New Wave Suit Silver Striped Black Wool Size S 30” Waist

This is a vintage 1980s New Wave suit made in a striking silver striped black wool or wool blend.  The jacket is made in a short waisted style with structured shoulders and wide upper body with a fitted waist that has a two button closure.  The lapels are made in a wide notched style. There is a pocket built into either side and the jacket is fully lined in black satin.  The pants are made with a pleated front and fairly wide leg the tapers slightly to the cuff.

Label: None.  This was perhaps custom made

Content label:  none, but appears to be wool with shiny synthetic metallic threading

Sizing: No size is indicated and although this vintage 1980s New Wave suit should fit a small / short size (note that the jacket measurements are in line with a medium size, but these jackets are oversized in style and meant to be loose fitting) - please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Jacket:

Shoulders:  20” across, from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeves:  22 1/2” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam:  14 1/4” long

Chest:  44” around, taken under the arm opening, meant to be loose/wide 

Waist:  38” around

Overall length:  23 1/2”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Pants:

Waist:  30”

Inseam:  26”

Overall length:  38” - there is an extra 3” inside the cuff, however, note the V shaped gap

Condition:  This vintage 1980s New Wave suit is in very good condition, with no noted wear, tear, staining or soiling.
