Vintage 1980s Koestel Wax Angel Tree Topper in Box West Germany

This vintage Koestel wax angel tree topper was handmade in West Germany during the 1980s.. The angel is dressed in an ivory and gold brocade gown with velvet sleeves and gold metallic trim. Behind her, a dramatic burst of gold foil rays creates a striking halo effect, typical of Koestel’s more elaborate Christbaumschmuck pieces.

The topper is marked with the original black Koestel label reading “Handarbeit – Handmade in West-Germany” and comes in the original Koestel retail box with product label “Christbaumspitze – Engel G 14.” A vintage German Deutsche Mark price sticker is still present on one corner.

Condition: Angel is in excellent condition with vibrant colours - I don’t think that it was ever used.  I think that you have to affix the angel to the top branch using the pipe cleaner wire that attaches the angel to the box.

Size:  The angel has a height of about 6” and the piece has a diameter of 9” including the foil rays
