Vintage 1980s Knit Bomber Jacket with Leather Trim Size L

$120.00

Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing

This is a vintage 1980s knit bomber jacket with leather trim, made in Canada for Montreal artist and designer Jean Michel Cropsal.  The jacket is made in an 80s oversized style with leather patchwork at the right shoulder, pocket openings and across the upper back. It is made with padded shoulders and closes with six snaps down the front.

Label: Jean Michel Cropsal.  Cropsal was born in Morocco and studied theatre costuming in France.  He emigrated to Canada in 1975 and continued to design for the theatre but also to market his own clothing designs.  He now works as an artist - drawing, painting and engraving.

Content:  Knit is 80% wool and 20% polyester.  Trim is dye leather

Sizing: Size L is indicated, and although this should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the oversized style of the jacket into account:

Shoulders:  22 1/2” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves:  25” long from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  20”

Chest: 58” around, taken under the arms - note that the knit stretches

Waist: 40” around, note that the knit stretches

Overall length: 28 1/2” taken at the back from the neck seam

Condition:  This vintage 1980s knit bomber jacket is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining, soiling or odour - a slight bit of weathering to the leather at the top back, really minor.  This jacket looks to have little use and was well stored over the years.

This is a wonderful example of 1980s fashion - deco design elements in the leather, oversized style, unique knit bomber, sure to be noticed!
