This is a sweater by Escada featuring perfect 1980s style! The sweater has an oversized form with large dolman style sleeves, the size embellished by the “curly” appearance of the sleeve and upper back, and the chenille-like patches applied overall, including the patch pocket applied to the lower front left side. It does up with four plastic buttons arranged in a square and the opening, bottom and cuffs are ribbed. The chenille patches are linked by “straps”. The sweater is unlined.
Label: Escada Made in Western Germany by SRB. Escada was founded in 1976 by Margaretha Ley and her husband Wolfgang. Margaretha passed away in 1992 and had been the principle designer for Escada before her passing.
Material: 58% Superkid Mohair / 32% Polyamide / 10% Wool. Superkid mohair is made from the hair of younger angora goats, thinner and more precious than regular mohair.
Sizing: German size 42 is indicated, which is equivalent to a US size 14. Please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style and thickness of the wool into account:
Shoulders and sleeves: 38” from the neck opening
Bust: 68” around, taken under the arms, meant to be loose due to dolman sleeve
Bottom: 31” around, unstretched - stretches out to 38” as needed
Overall length: 30", measured flat
Condition: This sweater is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors. It looks to have seen very little use and was well stored over the years.
This is a fabulous sweater with super 80s era styling...excellent quality by a very good design house at a time when Margaretha Ley was the designer......
