Vintage 1970s Stacked Lucite Tower Lamp Acrylic Skyscraper Table Lamp Eaton Canada

Vintage 1970s Stacked Lucite Tower Lamp Acrylic Skyscraper Table Lamp Eaton Canada

$275.00

This is a striking vintage stacked Lucite table lamp, most likely dating to the 1970s, with a dramatic architectural design reminiscent of a modernist skyscraper or stepped tower.

The lamp is constructed from a series of thick, clear Lucite or acrylic square slabs arranged in graduated sizes around a central column. Beginning with a substantial square base, the individual layers gradually decrease in size as they rise, creating a wonderfully sculptural, geometric silhouette. The thick polished edges catch and refract the light beautifully, giving the lamp a jewel-like quality from different angles.

An old EATON retail label remains attached to the lower portion of the lamp, providing an interesting connection to the iconic Canadian department store. The lamp retains its metal socket with side switch and old electrical cord. It is shown illuminated in the final photograph and was working at the time of photography. As with all vintage electrical items, inspection by a qualified electrician is recommended before regular use.

The Lucite appears to be in very good condition with no notable wear.  No shade is included and the metal harp holder is askew on one side.  Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.

A superb piece of vintage modernist lighting with considerable sculptural presence, perfect for a Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Space Age or eclectic interior. It would look especially dramatic with a complementary vintage shade.  Again, please note that even while functioning, old wiring should always be checked by a certified professional….
