This is a vintage 1970s Bombardier Ski Doo jacket. The jacket is made in a long windbreaker style with a 100% nylon exterior and polyester fill interlining. A Bombardier Ski-Doo logo appears at the left side chest of the jacket. The jacket does up the front with a zipper and has two side pockets with zippers - unfortunately, the left pocket zipper is off-track. It has an elasticized collar that can be zipped up to protect the neck (see photo) and elasticized cuffs. The jacket is lined in quilted red nylon.
Sizing: Size 42 is indicated on the label, and although this should fit a large size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut of the garment into account:
Shoulders: 20” across from the shoulder/sleeve seam to the shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 26” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam including the elasticized cuff
Sleeve inseam: 23”
Chest: 52” around, taken under the arms
Bottom: 48” around
Length: 31 1/2”
Condition: Aside from the broken zipper, it is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odors. The jacket has a dry cleaning ticket affixed to it. This outfit looks like it saw little use and was very well cared for over the years.
The Ski Doo was voted one of the most innovative Canadian inventions and launched a great sports vehicle and aircraft manufacturer. What can be more Canadian than winter sports wear?
