Vintage 1970s Radley of London Dress Ossie Clark Era Size 2

Vintage 1970s Radley of London Dress Ossie Clark Era Size 2

$225.00

This is a vintage 1970s Radley of London dress, made in England during the period when the label collaborated with noted British designer Ossie Clark.  It dates to the very early 70s (1970-1972) and is made of pale pink crochet-style lace with an open floral geometric pattern. It features a scoop neckline, short puffed sleeves, and a front button closure extending to the hem. The body is shaped to fit the waist and hips with slight flare at the skirt, typical of Radley’s feminine silhouette of the early 1970s.  It has an open front that closes with nine mother-of-pearl buttons.

While not signed “Ossie Clark for Radley,” the construction, cut, and materials are consistent with designs produced during Clark’s tenure with Radley (1968–1974) - Radley had come to the financial rescue of Ossie Clark’s Quorum Boutique and consequently Clark would allow Radley to make commercially viable garments based on his sketches.
