Vintage 1970s Pierre Balmain Overcoat Wool Cashmere Blend Size L

This is a vintage early 80s or late 1970s Pierre Balmain overcoat designed specifically for Canadian retailer Bovet. This single-breasted overcoat is cut with medium width notched lapels, three-button front, welt chest pocket, flapped hip pockets, and a centre back vent for ease of movement. The copper satin lining adds a luxe finish.

Fabric: 65% wool, 20% cashmere, 15% nylon

Labels: Pierre Balmain Paris “Confectionné spécialement pour Bovet” (made especially for Bovet); ACTWU/TAVT (Made in Canada) union label, used from 1976 until 1995.  The CA textile identification number on the size tag belongs to S. Cohen of Montreal who manufactured the coat under license.

Size tag: shows 44 Short, but please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 19 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seams

Sleeves: 25 1/2” from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve inseam: 16”

Chest: 49” around

Waist: 44” around

Overall length: 40 1/2”, measured flat at the back from the neck

Condition:  This 1970s Pierre Balmain overcoat is in very good condition with signs of wear consistent with very moderate use. No pronounced wear, tear or soiling, staining or odour.

This is a classic men’s overcoat, quality tailored as one would expect from a Pierre Balmain design!
