This vintage 1970s overcoat, dating to the late 1970s–early 1980s, was made by Empire Clothing of Montreal (CA00429) under their Duncan Craig brand name. The coat carries an ACTWU/TAVT union label (Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union / Textile and Apparel Workers of Canada), dating production between 1976 and 1995.
This vintage 1970s overcoat is constructed in a classic single-breasted style with three front buttons and higher set, medium width notched lapels. It has flapped side pockets and a back vent for ease of movement.
Fabric label: 50% cashmere / 30% wool / 20% nylon - the nylon adds strength while the cashmere gives the fabric a soft, luxurious feel
Retailer label: West End - private label used by Simpsons Ltd. of Brampton after being acquired by Hudson’s Bay in 1978
