This is a men’s silk dress scarf made during the 1970s - Lanvin is printed in the border at one end of the scarf with the Lanvin double L stylized logo. The pattern features paisley motifs in black, grey and white against a silver grey background. The fringe is pulled. The scarf is reversible and looks different displayed on either side (see two first photos of scarf posed on either side).
Age: 1970s
Retailer label: Marks & Son Montreal
Content label: 100% Silk CA 00236. CA 00236 is the Canadian textile identification number for the Park Lane Co., a Montreal based necktie and scarf manufacturer and importer. Park Lane probably made this scarf under license from Lanvin
Size: 51” long with a width of 13”.
Condition: It is in very good condition, very clean with only one small light mark on one side (see last close-up photo) that would probably come out with a dry cleaning, although I would just use it as is as it is really not noticeable, especially if folded to the inside. Otherwise, this scarf looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years, clean and ready to wear.
This is a classy scarf - very rich looking design by a French fashion house!
