Vintage 1970s Judith Ann Creations Indian Silk Dress Sequinned Beaded Size M

This is a wonderful 100% silk dress made in India under the highly sought after “Judith Ann Creations” label.  The silk is in a beige tone and is printed with an ornate pattern in tones of blue and ochre gold on the bodice, sleeves, and down the sides and bottom of the skirt - the same areas are decorated with blue and gold sequins as well as gold toned glass bugle beads.  The body of the dress is printed with a “ghosted” pattern in an ochre colour and decorated with gold sequins in a repeating flower form motif.  The dress has padded shoulders, a “bateau” or “boat” neckline, mid-forearm length raglan style full sleeves that almost form bell cuff, and a full cut skirt that falls in drapes.  The dress is fully lined in a beige lightweight silk.

Age: late 1970s / early 1980s

Label: Judith Ann Creations Inc 100% Silk Made in Inda (sic) Dry Clean Only RN 60406.  

Sizing: Size M for medium is indicated, but please note the following measurements for fit, taking into account the loose fitting style of the garment and the fact that the dress must fit over the head as it has no other openings:

Shoulders:  24” across to the end of each shoulder pad, difficult to measure due to cut of sleeve

Sleeves:  12” from shoulder pad, 18” from the neck opening

Bust: 54” around, taken under the sleeve - note that the shape of the sleeve makes the bust appear larger than it is

Waist:  42” around

Hips:  64” around extended out, meant to fall loosely in drapes

Length:  49” measured flat

Condition:  It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour.  This looks to have seen little use and was well stored over the years.
