Vintage 1970s Disco Dress Black Polyester w Sequin Bodice Richard Shops UK Size 10

This is a wonderful disco era dress made of black polyester with sequinned tube top type stretch bodice in colours of silver, grey, black and red.  The dress is made, as mentioned, with a tube top type bodice and a long wrap skirt that falls in drapes, with a flounce at its left side.  It is unlined with no closures as it simply fits over the head.   

Label: Richard Shops.  Richard Shops was a popular British retailer of women’s fashion, ubiquitous during the 1960s until the 1990s, with a particular marketing focus on young women

Fabric:  Polyester

Sizing: UK size 10 is indicated, which should be equivalent to a US 8, and although the dress should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, keeping in mind that the fabric has some stretch and the dress should be form fitting:

Bust: 22” around, unstretched, but stretches out to 34”

Waist: 24”, unstretched, stretches out to 30”

Hips: 36” +

Overall length: 49", measured flat, from the top of the bodice to the hemline

Condition:  It is in very good condition with the exception of a light mark to the skirt in the middle front (see last two close-up photos).  It is not noticeable as the skirt falls in drapes and I have not been able to remove it, but I’ve been limited in my effort as the dress is supposed to be dry cleaned.  

Despite the mark, this is a perfect disco era dress!  It should be perfect if it fits right....great for a disco party!
