This is a vintage 1970s black velvet hooded cape by Surrey Classics, featuring a softly draped silhouette with a snap and decorative braided frog closure at the neckline. The cape is fully lined and cut with raglan shoulders, allowing generous ease through the arms and upper body. Slits at the sides allow the arms to emerge.

Shell: 100% cotton velvet
Backing: 100% nylon
Lining: 100% acetate

Sizing: The size tag is missing. Based on the measurements and the intended drape of a cape, this piece would best suit a modern women’s medium, with flexibility depending on how it is layered.  Please rely on the following measurements for fit, perhaps comparing to a cape that you presently own:

As with all capes, fit is forgiving through the body, but shoulder scale and length are the most important considerations.

Condition:  In very good condition. The velvet presents well with normal light handling marks consistent with pile fabric. No structural issues noted.
