Vintage 1970 Seated Nude Girl Sculpture Klara Sever Austin Productions 6.75

This is a wonderful vintage sculptural statue made by Austin Productions after the original by Czech American sculptor Klara Sever. Austin Productions was established in Brooklyn in 1952 as a museum reproduction company, producing copies of antique and contemporary sculpture. They used a material called Durastone, which was a slurry of crushed stone that was poured into a mold and then hand painted. They still exist but have changed their name to Austin Sculpture and now focus on decorative sculpture rather than art reproduction, producing in Mexico and England.
This sculpture features a nude girl in a seated position hugging her knees. She measures 6 3/4 in height and is stamped on the lower back with 1970 Austin Prod Inc. She has been painted in a combination of black, brown and bronze with a bit of red in places, mostly to the left side of her face. She is in very good condition - there may be small imperfections in the paint as this was hand painted, but she displays very well.
