Vintage 1965 Grossé gold-plated five-leaf floral brooch with textured fan-shaped leaves and central clear rhinestone

Vintage 1965 Grossé Gold Plated Five Leaf Floral Brooch Christian Dior Era Signed Germany

$195.00

This is a vintage 1965 Grossé gold-plated floral brooch, made in Germany during the period when Grossé was producing costume jewellery for Christian Dior.

The brooch features a sculptural arrangement of five broad, fan-shaped leaves radiating from a central point, with a gently curved stem extending below. Each leaf is finely engraved with closely spaced lines, creating a textured, reflective surface. A small, clear faceted rhinestone accents the centre.

The brooch has a brilliant, rich gold finish, characteristic of the high-quality gold plating used by Grossé, which was known for producing jewellery with very substantial 18K and 22K gold plating.

The reverse is fitted with a pin stem and rollover safety clasp. It is signed GROSSE © 1965 GERMANY, together with the smaller Henkel & Grossé emblem, referencing the firm's original name.

Grossé and Christian Dior

Henkel & Grossé was established in Pforzheim, Germany, in 1907 and became known for its finely manufactured costume jewellery. In 1955, the company entered into a 50-year licensing agreement to manufacture jewellery for Christian Dior.

This brooch dates to 1965, placing it within the period of Grossé's collaboration with Dior. During this era, Grossé produced jewellery under both the Christian Dior and Grossé names, sometimes producing identical designs marketed under the two brands. Although this example is signed Grossé rather than Christian Dior, it represents the same German jewellery-making tradition and manufacturing period associated with the Dior collaboration.
