Vintage 1960s Tuxedo Dinner Jacket Holt Renfrew Men's Shop Black Shawl Collar
This vintage dinner jacket was retailed by Holt Renfrew Men's Shop, Canada's premier luxury fashion retailer, and likely dates to the mid-1960s. While there are no remaining maker's or fabric labels, the styling, tailoring and construction are entirely consistent with quality Canadian formalwear of the period.
The jacket is cut in the single-breasted dinner jacket style with a satin-faced shawl collar, a single front button, jetted hip pockets and a welt breast pocket. A centre back vent is omitted, as expected on formalwear of that time.
The interior is partially lined with a black striped satin lining, while the sleeves are fully lined. The jacket appears to be tailored from a fine black worsted wool, as you would expect from Holt Renfrew during the 60s.
Whether worn with traditional tuxedo trousers or paired more casually for a contemporary evening look, this remains a very nice example of classic Canadian tailoring from one of the country's most respected retailers.
Condition: Excellent condition. No significant flaws noted. No original manufacturer or content labels are present, leaving only the Holt Renfrew Men's Shop retailer's label.
