This vintage Rooster silk tie was sold at Lord & Taylor, America’s oldest department store, and features a striking striped design in navy blue, cream, pale blue and goldenrod. The fabric has flecking throughout, most noticeable in the cream coloured areas. Woven from textured slub silk, the tie has a distinctive nubby surface and the casual sophistication associated with late 1960s menswear.

The wide horizontal bands and textured weave give this vintage silk necktie a bold yet versatile appearance. It pairs well with vintage tailoring, sport coats, blazers and modern menswear, making it a handsome example of mid-century American neckwear from one of the era’s best-known tie makers.
