Vintage 1960s Mod Psych Dress Frank Usher London Size S

Vintage 1960s Mod Psych Dress Frank Usher London Size S

$250.00

This eye-catching 1960s mod psych dress by Frank Usher of London captures the psychedelic influenced style that defined mid-decade British fashion. Made in England and retailed through Petit Salon Dupuis, a noted boutique within a well-known Montreal department store, it exemplifies the “Swinging London” aesthetic that Frank Usher helped popularize during the era.

The dress is crafted from a  jacquard woven fabric with metallic threads (fabric appears to be linen like)  in a psychedelic swirl pattern of turquoise, violet, navy, aqua, and metallic silver. The shimmering texture and colour palette give the fabric remarkable depth and dimension. The cut is clean and structured, featuring a mock turtleneck collar, sleeveless silhouette, and A-line skirt with two small hip flaps. It closes with a back turquoise painted metal zipper and is unlined.

Frank Usher was established in London in 1946 by Anne and Max Bruh, known for creating high-fashion looks at accessible prices. By the mid-1960s, the brand’s designs often echoed the futuristic, mod influences of designers like Pierre Cardin and André Courrèges, while maintaining a distinctly British flair — as seen in this striking geometric pattern and sculpted shape.
