This is a 1960s era day dress that is made in a simple sleeveless sheath style. The dress has a button-down belt at the back that cinches the waist. It has a jewel neckline and is made in a to-the-knee length. It does up with a zipper down the back and is lined in gold toned acetate.
Label: None - this is seamstress made, but very well constructed
Fabric: I think that this is a type of Tootal - a cotton and rayon blend. It has the properties of softness and weight so that it has nice “fall”.
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the dress into consideration:
Shoulders: 15” across the top
Bust: 37” around
Waist: 28” around, with the belt buttoned up
Hips: 37” around
Overall length: 37", measured flat from the top of the shoulder to the hemline
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour. This piece looks to have seen little use and has been well stored and cared for over the years.
This is a lovely 60s era dress - very attractive floral pattern!
