Brand Poppy's Vintage Clothing
This is a vintage 1960s black leather trench coat. This 1960s black leather trench coat has many of the features of a classic trench coat: military type collar and lapels, padded shoulders, a six button double breasted front, button down shoulder epaulets, a slant pocket built into either side,, rain flaps at the front and back, a single 23” kick vent at the back and cinches with a matching belt at the waist. The coat is lined in black satin fabric above the waist and a plaid wool below the waist for extra warmth.
Label: Victoria Leather Made in Canada. I believe that Victoria leather was based in Winnipeg, Manitoba and went into receivership in 1982. I’ve had a number of jackets from them and they were always of excellent quality
Sizing: The size label is missing and although this should fit a small size, please note the following measurements for fit, taking the cut of this 1960s black leather trench coat into account:
Shoulders: 20” across the shoulders, seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 24 1/2” from the shoulder seam - there is an additional 2” inside the hem, however, lengthening may leave a fold mark
Sleeve Inseam: 15”
Chest: 52” around, taken under the arms - note that sizing is usually 6” less than chest measurement, making this a US size 46 although size 44 may also work especially if you want to wear a suit underneath
Waist: 46” around, meant to be cinched with the belt
Length: 42 1/2” measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This 1960s black leather trench coat is in very good condition with no noted issues, only minor signs of usage.
This is great looking 1960s black leather trench coat - hard to find older examples like this, great if it fits!
