Vintage 1954 Spode Maritime Rose Lidded Muffin Dish Rare

This is a rare Spode Maritime Rose lidded muffin dish.  The Spode Maritime Rose lidded muffin dish bottom features a lovely large rose, based on the Billingsley Rose, in the centre of a white background that is bordered in periwinkle blue with raised white floral flourishes while the dome lid is decorated with two roses. The dish has gold trimmed edges and detail.  The piece is in very clean condition with no chips, scratches, cracks or wear - even the gold trim is fully intact.  This Spode Maritime Rose lidded muffin dish looks to have seen little, if any, use.  The dish measures 8” in diameter including its rim while the bowl of the dish measures 5 5/8” in diameter - the dome has a height of 2”, exclusive of its finial.  The underside of dish and the interior of the dome are each stamped “Spode Copeland’s China England” - this mark was used from 1904 until 1954 while the Maritime Rose pattern was produced from 1954 until 1972, so this Spode Maritime Rose lidded muffin dish can be dated to the year of introduction, 1954.   In addition, each piece is hand inscribed with R4118 K in red.  I haven’t been able to view another Spode Maritime Rose lidded muffin dish like this anywhere, even as part of large services being offered, so this appears to be an exceedingly difficult piece to find -  great addition to a set in this pattern or simply a very pretty display piece!
