This is a vintage 1950s wool overcoat sold at the Dupuis Frères department store in Montreal during the late 1950s to early 1960s (1958-1962). This vintage 1950s wool overcoat is tailored in a muted green and black checked wool with a single-breasted, three-button front and high set narrow lapels. It features a saddle shoulder (inset raglan) sleeve construction, giving the drape of a raglan with added shoulder definition.

The coat is half lined in rayon with a single back vent and two front flap pockets. It has buttoned sleeve tabs for added detail.

Sizing:  No size is indicated, however this vintage 1950s wool overcoat should fit a medium size, especially if wearing a sport jacket underneath, and might fit a size 42.  Please rely on the following measurements for fit (taken flat):

Shoulders: 20 1/2” across shoulder/sleeve seams

Sleeves: 24 1/4” from the shoulder seam - there is an extra 2 1/4” inside the cuff

Sleeve inseam: 16”

Chest: 47” around

Waist: 49” around

Overall length: 39” from the back neck seam to hem

Condition: This vintage 1950s wool overcoat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, soiling, staining or odour. Lining and outer wool remain strong and wearable.
