Vintage 1950s Tuxedo Custom Tailored Gioacchino Pirri Sicily

This is a vintage 1950s tuxedo custom tailored by Italian tailor Gioacchino Pirri of Messina, Sicily who was known for his precise construction and refined styling. This vintage 1950s tuxedo is cut in a classic single-breasted style with a single woven silk patterned button closure and accented waist. It features wide peaked satin lapels, padded shoulders, a chest pocket, jetted side pockets, and three woven silk patterned buttons at the sleeve cuffs. The jacket has a full satin lining and the pants interior demonstrates hand-finished stitching (see last close-up photo). The pants are pleated with satin side stripes, buckled waist adjusters, button-up fly and a single back pocket with button.

This vintage 1950s tuxedo is unlabelled for content but appears to be a fine wool in a substantial weight (suitable for cooler temperatures) with silk satin facings. This is a hand-finished, traditionally constructed garment.

Sizing: Custom tailored, so no size tag, and although this vintage 1950s tuxedo should fit a medium size (US 38/40), lease rely on the following measurements for fit:

Condition: This vintage 1950s tuxedo is in very good condition except for a tiny tear/hole near the hem.  Otherwise, no other pronounced wear, soiling or staining. Well stored and cared for, but would benefit from a professional cleaning and pressing.
