This is a quality mens fedora hat made by Scott & Co of London.  The hat is made in a trilby style with a 1 7/8” brim that can be posed either up or down depending on preference.  The crown has a grosgrain band and bow around its base.  The lining is gold stamped “Scott & Co By Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen Hat Makers 1, Old Bond Street Picccadilly, W. De Luxe Quality” as well as stamped with the Royal Coat of Arms, a symbol of a Royal appointment.   The sweatband is stamped on one side similarly to the lining and on the other side with the retailer’s name “Made Expressly for Henry Morgan & Co. Montreal”.  Henry Morgan was a venerable and excellent quality department store that started using “Morgan’s” during the late 1950s and was bought by the Hudson’s Bay Co. in 1960.  It’s logo was changed at that point - there is a price ticket on the inside sweatband with an older style logo on it, so we know that this pre-dates 1960.  The lining is also printed with “Stetson” and with the Stetson coat-of-arms.  It is sized as a 7 1/4 on the cardboard ticket - it measures 22 7/8” around the sweat band and 8” by 6 3/4” across the opening.  The crown measures 4 3/4” in height.  A cardboard label on the interior identifies the color as “Midnight Blue”, but it is so dark as to almost be black.  The hat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear - there’s a small mark on the lining that should come out, very minor in any case, and the hat will benefit from a brushing, but, otherwise, this fedora looks great!

Wonderful quality 50s English fedora in an attractive form and color!
