This hat is right out of the mid-1950s - I have photos of my mother wearing a similar hat when I was a baby. The hat is made in a saucer shape with downturned edge.  It is made of blue velvet with applied velvet leaves in a violet blue colour.  The leaves form a cluster on the top of the hat, each leaf studded with a rhinestone, and the edge is trimmed with leaves.  The interior has a part that fits onto the head - I would size it as a small to smaller medium size.  The interior has a label glued into it that reads “Madame Ines Montreal”.  It is in very good condition except for a light yellowish mark across the front brim that may come out with the right treatment - minor in any case.

 

This is a fun hat - perfect period piece!
