This is a wonderful 1950s pink cotton dress, dating to the late 50s. It is sleeveless and has a wide shawl collar, almost like an oversized sailor’s collar, a decorative bow at the top of the neckline bridge, a full cut “circle” type skirt and four large decorative buttons on the bodice, two pinning down the collar and two just above the waistline. The skirt is gathered in small tucks below the waistline, which gives the skirt its fullness. It was posed with a crinoline underneath it, but no crinoline is provided - it is perfectly wearable without one, but if you want that 50s circle skirt look, a crinoline is required. The dress is unlined and closes at the back with a metal zipper.
