From the 50s here's a men's vintage suede leather jacket trimmed with fringe and Native Indian beadwork. I believe that the beading is of Metis origin. The jacket has some age, and although difficult to date precisely, I believe that it dates to the 1950s, perhaps very early 60s. It is unlined and does up the front with a brass metal “Lightning” zipper, which is a Canadian brand of zipper.

Sizing: This should fit a medium sized man, probably someone taller, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, keeping the style of the garment in mind.  Please measure your body or a similar garment that you might own for comparison.  All measurements are given in inches.

Shoulders: 19 1/2

Sleeves: 27

Sleeve inseam: 21

Chest: 46

Waist: 42

Hips: 44

Overall length: 33

The jacket has signs of use, some soiling and a few small spots on the sleeves and at the lower back, but nothing pronounced. The suede has become supple and a little thinner along the shoulder line, but is still very structurally intact. I have not had it cleaned, and any cleaning would have to be done by a specialist familiar with this type of garment. Overall, this is in very good condition, especially considering its age and type.

This is an authentic vintage Indian beadwork jacket, wonderful wearable art.
