Vintage 1950s Morabito Paris Evening Purse Micro Steel Beaded Bag Made in France

Vi This is a beautiful quality evening purse made in France by luxury brand Morabito Paris. Morabito was founded in 1905 by Jean-Baptiste Morabito in Nice France. He began to make evening bags during the Belle Epoque for ladies of society. In 1921, he opened an a boutique on the rue Saint Honor and in 1951 at number 1 Place Vendome. He created the Orsay bag for Marilyn Monroe in 1958. Royalty were regular clientele.
This bag is micro beaded overall with cut steel metal beads in tones of silver, gold and charcoal in a diamond-like geometric pattern. The clasp is a spring loaded bar with a raised steel beaded design on it. The frame is gold plated, lovely quality. It has a single interior compartment made of peach coloured satin with a side pocket affixed to either side. The side pocket is gold stamped has an affixed label that reads Morabito Paris. It has a beaded soft handle, filled to be round in form. It measures 9 in width at its widest by 5 3/4 in height exclusive of its handle - the handle has a fall of 4 3/4. The bag does expand. It is in very good condition with the exception of some makeup soiling to the interior. There are creases to the handle, but this is normal. This is a beautiful quality purse made by a venerable Parisian luxury brand - lovely piece to keep and treasure!
