Vintage 1950s Marcel Boucher Calla Lily Brooch Gold Plated Floral Pin Signed 7431
This is a vintage 1950s Marcel Boucher gold-plated calla lily brooch, featuring a sculptural floral design with finely detailed surfaces and a rich gold-tone finish.
The brooch depicts a single calla lily, with a gracefully curved, pointed spathe surrounding a prominent central spadix. The flower has finely engraved, radiating lines that give the surface texture and depth, contrasting with the raised, stippled detailing of the central spadix.
A curved leaf-like element extends below the flower, leading to a short, gracefully shaped stem. The three-dimensional construction and detailed metalwork are characteristic of Marcel Boucher's costume jewellery designs.
The reverse has a textured finish and is fitted with a traditional pin stem and rollover safety clasp. It is marked © BOUCHER and bears the design number 7431 on the stem. The copyright symbol began appearing on Boucher jewellery in 1955, and the sequential design number 7431 suggests a date around that time or shortly thereafter.
Marcel Boucher was a French-born jewellery designer who established his own company in New York in 1937. His jewellery is particularly known for its detailed metalwork, sculptural forms and botanical subjects.
