Vintage 1950s Evening Gown Violet-Grey Tulle over Pale Yellow Taffeta Size S

eveThis is a beautiful vintage 1950s evening gown made in a full length with a layer of soft violet-grey tulle over pale yellow taffeta, creating a subtle two-tone effect characteristic of mid-century formalwear. The bodice is ruched and features appliquéd floral motifs arranged along the neckline and down the centre front, as well as scattered across the skirt. The cap sleeves are formed from gathered tulle, and the gown is designed with a fitted waist and a very full skirt, typical of early-1950s silhouettes.

Condition
Very good condition with expected light signs of age and wear. No major flaws noted on inspection; tulle is intact and floral appliqués are secure. The floral appliqués are off-white - possibly yellowed or possibly the original colour tone, hard to tell, but the colour is even.  The gown might benefit from a dry cleaning, but a gown like this may be expensive to clean - as far as I am concerned, I believe that it is very wearable as is.
