Emilio Pucci Marquis of Barsento, of course, is a much sought after designer who started his fashion career shortly after WWII.  Emilio Pucci first designed skiwear, introducing the use of stretch fabrics which hadn’t seen much use to that point in time, and in 1948, established his fashion house on the Isle of Capri - note that Capri is indicated on the label on this 1950s Emilio Pucci top.  Due to Capri being a destination for the jet set, his designs gradually achieved international recognition, and he established a second atelier in Rome. By the mid-1950s, Emilio Pucci had won a number of fashion industry awards, and, through the 1950s, 60s and 70s, his designs were being worn by celebrities from Marilyn Monroe to Sophia Loren to Jackie Kennedy.  The Emilio Pucci label is still popular today and still being worn by celebrities from Madonna to Kylie Minogue to Rihanna.
