This is a vintage 1950s brocade dressing gown made in a jacquard woven paisley pattern. The pattern is in tones of pink and green against a shiny blue colour, very rich looking.  This vintage 1950s brocade dressing gown has shawl lapels and defined cuffs, with a patch pocket at either side and at the left chest, all trimmed in blue, pink, and green striped satin roping.  It closes with a green, black and violet roped belt.  It is unlined.  

Label: None, so difficult to ascertain the country of origin - possibly European, but might also be Middle Eastern as Egypt had a history with France and Britain.

Age:  1950s, possibly early 60s

Sizing: No size is indicated and although this vintage 1950s brocade dressing gown should fit a medium size or maybe a size 42 with a narrow upper body, please rely on the following measurements for fit,:

Shoulders: 17” across, between shoulder/sleeve seams

Sleeves: 23 1/2” long from the shoulder/sleeve seam

Sleeve Inseam: 18 1/2” long

Chest: 46”

Waist: 46” uncinched, but meant to be cinched with the belt

Overall length: 51” measured from the back neck seam to the hemline

Condition:  This vintage 1950s brocade dressing gown is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, holes, stains or odour - there is a small fray spot at the back upper, just below the neck, visible with light behind but not noticeable otherwise.
