This is a wonderful 50s era nylon nightie made in Canada by Gossard.  Gossard was founded as a corset maker in 1901 in Chicago by W.H. Gossard, who founded the company after visiting Paris and seeing a performance by Sarah Bernhardt, who was attired in a corset.  The nightie has lovely form, with a deep V neckline, pleated bodice and skirt that falls beautifully in drapes and black lace midriff.  It is sleeveless and closes at the back with five buttons.

Age: 1950s, maybe early 60s
