This is a wonderful 1950s ball gown / prom dress that could also be used as a bridesmaid’s dress. This 1950s ball gown is made with an off-the-shoulder neckline and with a pleated taffeta bodice. The taffeta extends down past the hips and is finished in an irregular edged pleated border. The skirt is made of layers of netted pink tulle over a pink taffeta base. This 1950s ball gown was photographed with a crinoline - the use of a crinoline creates a fuller look although it’s not absolutely necessary. It closes with a metal zipper at its back.
Label: None - looks manufactured, otherwise made by a professional couturier/seamstress
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a small size, please note the following measurements for fit:
Bust: 32”-34” / Waist: 25” / Hips: 40” (meant to be full) / Length: 44”, measured flat
Condition: This 1950s ball gown is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear or odour -there is one tiny stain at the lower right, just above the tulle (see last close-up photo). I haven’t tried to remove it, and although it looks large in the extreme close-up photo, it only measures 1/8” in diameter, so pretty insignificant. Otherwise, it looks like it saw maybe one use and was well stored over the years.
This is a lovely 1950s ball gown - pretty in pink!
