Vintage 1950 Tux Jacket Mens Dinner Jacket Size L

This is a wonderful 1950 tux jacket or dinner jacket - it is dated 1950 on the tailor’s label.  This 1950 tux jacket is made in a classic 40s transitional style with heavily padded shoulders, unusual narrow notched grosgrain covered lapels and a two button front, the top bottom being a linked button.  It has a jetted pocket at either side with a pocket at the left chest.  The exterior is made of a medium weight wool and the interior is half lined in black satin fabric.  The sleeves have three buttons at either cuff.

Sizing: Being custom tailored, there is no size tag and although this 1950 tux jacket should fit a large size, probably about a US size 42, please note the following measurements for fit:

Shoulders: 20” from shoulder seam to shoulder seam

Sleeves: 25 1/2” from the shoulder seam 

Sleeve Inseam: 18”

Chest: 46” around

Waist:  44” around

Length:  35 1/2”, measured flat

Condition:  This 1950 tux jacket is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odour - the cuffs were pressed in such a way that the interior hem is apparent, but I’m sure that this could be corrected.  This jacket looks to have seen little use and has been very well cared for and stored over the last 74 years.

This is a very nice quality custom tailored 1950 tux jacket - great piece if you need to recreate mens fashion as it was in 1950!
