Vintage 1949 Early 1950s Pendleton 49er Jacket Size Large

Vintage 1949 Early 1950s Pendleton 49er Jacket Size L As Is

$110.00

This is an original 1949 or early 1950s Pendleton 49er jacket, introduced in 1949 and designed by Berte Wiechmann as a nod to the California Gold Rush, it was an instant hit and became an iconic piece of American sportswear. This example features the classic wool plaid in tones of red, green, and charcoal with white checks, accented with large mother-of-pearl style buttons, a wide pointy collar, buttoned barrel cuffs, and a deep patch pocket at either lower side — all hallmarks of the earliest Pendleton 49ers.

The jacket is cut in the signature relaxed silhouette with slight gathers at the back yoke.

Label: Pendleton label dating to the late 40s and early to mid-50s, however, it is quite worn
Era: 1949–early 1950s

Bust: 47” around

Bottom: 44” around

This is a wonderful early example of an original 1949 or early 1950s Pendleton 49er jacket - nice quality wool and great buttons, sold “as is”!
